Home Shaver
The choice of shaving method is largely a matter of taste. Having studied all kinds of thematic forums, you can make sure that each of the available methods has its own adherents: some prefer razors with interchangeable cassettes, others prefer classic T-shaped machines. You can even meet razor lovers (although much more often you can find those who prefer shavette - dangerous razors with replaceable blades).

First of all, electric razors are of interest to us - they have incorporated many achievements of modern technologies and are improving from year to year (unlike all the above devices, among which it is very rare to find a fundamentally new technical solution worthy of a new patent). How to choose an electric shaver and what parameters should you pay attention to first? Let's figure it out.
One of the key parameters by which electric shavers can be divided are two fundamentally different systems, called mesh and rotary. Their meaning and difference are intuitively clear from the name.
Mod Home Shaver ern rotary shavers are equipped with multiple heads, each of which is a disc with holes under which the rotating blades are located. The general consensus is that the main advantage of rotary shavers is that they do well with short stubble, and the main disadvantage is that this is often accompanied by skin irritation (especially if it turns out to be sensitive).

The blades of a mesh razor do not rotate, but vibrate from side to side, and they are closed not by discs, but by a mesh. On average, these razors are better suited for longer hair (including better for shaving mustaches and beards) and are less irritating to sensitive skin.

However, as often happens, the "general opinion" is largely a compilation of myths from many years ago and some features of devices from very specific manufacturers (and even a very specific price category). The truth is that at the moment top-end rotary shavers have learned to be quite careful even for sensitive skin, and top-end mesh shavers shave stubble no worse than rotary ones. So it's not about the technology used, but about the quality of the manufacturing of the units and the sophistication of the design thought.
However, one significant difference between foil and rotary shavers remains and will not go anywhere further - because it is directly related to the design of the shaving heads. This difference is in the movement of the razor (and, accordingly, of the hand) while shaving. A mesh razor is used to shave in the same way as with a razor - in longitudinal movements against the direction of bristle growth.
For shaving with a rotary razor, such a scheme is absolutely not optimal, there are used circular movements of the head of the razor on the skin, and depending on the direction of growth of the bristles, the direction of "rotation" of the head should also be changed.
Thus, we can say that for a person who has shaved with a machine before, it will be somewhat easier to master a foil razor.
A standard rotary shaver has 2-4 (on average, three) rotating discs located at different angles to the surface of the face. At the moment of contact, the skin is pressed through, which ensures the best contact and penetration of the hairs into the razor - to the knives. The heads themselves can be either fixed or movable (floating). Mobility results in the best fit and therefore improves shaving performance. Quite predictably, floating-head razors will be more expensive than their fixed-head counterparts.

Often, manufacturers provide a movable mount for the entire shaving unit on which the heads are located. Thanks to this, the block can be deflected in different directions and planes. It is believed that this solution provides more accurate contouring of the face and a m
